IKEA!

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

So i went to IKEA with a couple of my mates and suffice to say it was AMAZING.

When you first walk in they have billions upon billions of yellow bags. Now this is where it makes no sense. At the end of your trip there are no bags they give you. What they do offer you are bags to buy, kind of like the yellow bags, but they’re blue instead of yellow. I accidentally bagged my stuff in the yellow bags I had initially gotten and then was soon told that they were not to be used, but I could purchase blue versions of them for $0.59.

This kitchen was to die for. I love the checkered pattern on the wall.
The usage of tile is so interesting and gives this amazing mosaic feel.
Makes me think about Photoshopping my kitchen.

I now own this wine rack. It sits on my kitchen wall and holds many a bottle of wine, and by many i mean four.
I’ve also become a bit of a wine aficionado and can now tell you what kind of wine to drink with what sort of meal.
I don’t know if this makes me gay.
I still do push ups.

I don’t know what this is.
But it looked gnarly.

Go to IKEA, its rad.
I can’t wait to go back!

Pet Peeves

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

I hate when people leave stuff on the counters when they can easily put things in the sink.
I reminded Brandon of this, he then asked me to take a shit on the kitchen floor.
After attempting to, i decided that i would most certainly pee myself.
I stopped attempting to and then realized that taking a shit on my kitchen floor is pretty gross.
I am still ten years old.

Thnks MUM!

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

I woke up yesterday and did my usual morning routine before work.
I grab my keys and head downstairs to the front door of my building.
As i open a big brown box falls on me and the return address says California (where momma bear lives).
And it was my new electric griddle!

Azn shopping spree

Hopped over to a few stores.
Fell in love with a Fred Perry umbrella that i will be purchasing soon.
I almost “purchased” it but then decided to be a good person.
Also fell in love with these things!

Saw some very interesting NIKEs that were covered in some sort of animal hair.
I could never wear these but i really appreciated the time it must have taken to do these.
If only i wore anything but dress shoes and Vans.

I scooped up this yellow watch.
I’m usually pretty classic about my accessories, but i am such a sucker for anything related to bright yellow.
Yellow makes me really happy.

I also fell in love with these very italian looking loafers. I’m usually not into that “ALDO” look as i like to call it. The shape of a shoe for me has to be clean but sometimes over roundedness gives it this aerodynamic look that keeps me hearing 8 different italian dudes shouting “Bella Americana!” constantly, and then i vomit.

These shoes cost too much for your pocket.
But they look good on your feet, so you buy them.
These are the new Visims.
So fresh, my boy Warren says he doesn’t even need to wear socks with them they’re so breathable.

I’ve never seen a leather coat that i have loved, until i saw this one. Its just unfortunately i have this thing where i don’t like spending the equivalent of two months rent on a coat. If anyone is interested in buying me this coat please email me at KayoumFranklyn@gmail.com

BRO DINNER (ON DOGS)

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

Had a little bit of a housewarming dinner for myself and five of my boys. Made a little dinner and it was a great time, had so much fun. There’s nothing like a good home cooked meal with friends to brighten up your day.
I made a west indian style penne rigate cheese bake with some stir fried zucchini and onions only done enough to be cooked but still crisp. I also had a really nice pan seared italian chicken that i topped off with some cold sun dried tomatoes and green peas.
I find giving contrasting temperatures as well as contrasting flavors and colors brings a really great life to a dish.
