“Inception”

Even though this movie is a ripoff of “Paprika”

You can’t deny being excited about a film with Leonardo Dicaprio and Joseph Gordon Levitt. Two really proven actors in their own time capable of catching a lot of different moods. Not sure if what’s her face (Ellen Page) is a strong enough choice though for the lead girl. I was never really convinced by “Juno”.
Still really excited to see how this turns out though.

Ichi The Killer

Weird weird movie. I am only saying its a must see for those who are not the faint of heart. A Yakuza movie about the gangsters, deviants, and perverts that run the underworld of modern day Japan, “Ichi The Killer” is filled with torturous, decadent, and intensely violent scenes that most people will find themselves turning away from semi often. Lacking an ending that makes any sense without referencing Wikipedia, “Ichi The Killer” will at least have you interested in what’s going to happen next.

I give this slightly long film, a 3 out of 5.
Wouldn’t say its a movie that will make you feel great about life, but really a film worth seeing if one calls themselves a “movie buff”.

The Book of Eli

The Book of Eli

Denzel and Gary… make a boring movie… filled with little to no realistic tension.
A what seemed to be promising film about a man that mysteriously wanders a post apocalyptic Earth looking for something that ends up being ***SPOILER ALERT*** Alcatraz Prison and protecting a book ***SPOILER ALERT*** that ends up being that King James version of the bible in braille is an updated version of Mad Max without all the cool parts. The movie is littered with 3 minute scenes of Denzel using the machete he has and sharpens every night while listening to Al Green on his Dr Dre “Beats” headphones and 2 generation apple iPod. The movie takes an even more unrealistic turn for the worse when Denzel eventually meets up with an untouched Mila Kunis (who can’t read) and unwillingly ends up having to take her on the journey with him after having to save her from a really awkward mutant rape scene (see: “The Hills Have Eyes”).

Eventually, after a quick assist from human eating married couple trapped in a house. Dumbledore and Olympe Maxime (the huge French chick that brought those girls with the blue outfits from the other magic school and madeout with Hagriff) get killed after about 15 minutes before all is revealed as a boring allusion to religion and the selfish humanity that is modern day man in real life. The movie takes an even worse twist when Denzel dies in the end while wearing an Islamic robe leaving all of his equipment and end scene starring Kunis with a setup for her starring, in an even worse sequel.

I give it 1.5 out of 5.
Meaning, you should actually only watch a downloaded version of this movie, or better yet, stream it. Because downloading it and taking the risk of getting caught watching it isn’t worth the better quality of viewing this movie.
Though the machete scenes are cool, so if you’re REALLY bored.

Wow.
An experience that everyone should enjoy in IMAX 3D.
Visually stunning and a film everyone and anyone can appreciate from its storyline, acting, or amazing visuals.

Wow, this movie was a breath of fresh air. Perfect voiceovers and amazing animation that is a combination of a lot of different mediums of film and animation combined in one. The stop motion, actual film, hand drawn work, and clay work all combines to form this beautiful tapestry of a movie. Imagine “The Royal Tennenbaums” meets, “Winnie The Pooh” meets, “Wallace & Grommit”. This film is a must see, incredibly cute and a perfect date movie, family film, or just seshing with some friends, even the slow parts will have you wrapped up with intrigue of what’s next.

I give this a 5 out of 5. Brilliant!

Assassination of a High School President

Wow, really??? This movie was good?! I know, i myself was extremely confused as to how this movie turned out so great. Part spy movie, part political conspiracy, part high school sex flick. Take them all and roll them into one and you’ll get this movie starring Bruce Willis and Mischa Barton (sp?). I’d check how to spell her name, but she’s a joke. But yes, even her in this movie was extremely tolerable. Not to mention the nude scenes of her helped. She must have done this before she gained all that weight because OC girl was looking pretty nice. I recommend this movie as a must see, its not one you’ll want to watch over and over again, but it is a film that has slipped incredibly under the radar. I see a lot of future acting talent coming out of this one.

I rate this a 4.5 out of 5!
